Flowering Apricot (prunus mume)

Uncommon tree native to Korea and China. Beginning in January the flowering apricot produces beautiful, delicate, fragrant flowers over many weeks just when we need them most. The flowers are white to red through pink, single and double and have a rich and spicey fragrance. Ornamental fruit follows flowering and is generally considered inedible.
