The Gift of Beauty
Ah, don’t you wish it were so simple to give beauty! Reminds me of Sleeping Beauty…
While you can’t give beauty itself, beauty supplies are a great gift for just about anyone. You’ll have to consider their interests, but if you buy something that is just a little more special than the person would buy for themselves, it will be much appreciated.
For men, take a look at their personal care needs. Maybe he needs a new electric razor. Maybe he prefers to trim his own beard and moustache and needs newer tools for that. To tease him a little about getting old, a nose hair trimmer.
It is easier to buy beauty supplies for women. Most of them enjoy taking care of their appearance far more, and use more supplies and tools.
Help her to relax with a selection of bath salts. If you know her favorite scents, so much the better.
Get her a good quality manicure kit. These are pretty easy to find and generally affordable.
Cosmetics may be welcome, but you have to know a lot about her tastes. Don’t just assume she will like the big box o’ cosmetics. Most women have a color range they prefer for eyeshadows and lipsticks, and trust me, a range of colors in foundation means most of it will go to waste.
Jewelry is another fun way to enhance beauty. Very few people will take offense. Having worked in a jewelry store, I can tell you there are ungrateful people in the world, but 99.999% will love to receive a carefully considered piece of jewelry. You don’t have to stick with fine jewelry; many people have a genuine appreciation for the fashionable range available in fashion jewelry.
Yet another idea is a subscription to a beauty magazine. You may not have the latest fashion tips, but the magazine might. This is great for women who are really into fashion. For a more educated and affluent woman, I would suggest W, rather than Cosmo.
People love to look good. Giving beauty related gifts is a great idea to make someone special know that they are special to you.
